A helicopter and watercraft helped rescue three boaters who found themselves stranded late Sunday on the Missouri River in Kansas City.

Kansas City Fire Department Battalion Chief James Garrett confirmed Sunday that his department received the call for a water rescue just after 9 p.m. The boating party found itself lodged on rocks just east of the Bond Bridge. Garrett said a helicopter was dispatched to help locate the individuals. Rescuers used boats to reach the stranded individuals.

Neither the boaters names nor the type of craft they were in was readily available. No injuries were reported.
