Kansas City police have released the name of a 30-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a wreck Friday on Interstate 70.
Jared M. Sullivan, of Illinois, died after a one-vehicle crash that occurred as he was traveling east on I-70 near Jackson Avenue, according to police.
Born in Jerseyville, Ill., Sullivan was a member of the St. Louis Local 716 chapter of a carpenter’s union and had been working in Kansas City, according to an obituary published in The Telegraph newspaper in Alton, Ill.
Officers responded to the wreck shortly before 3 a.m. Sullivan had been driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and hit a concrete barrier in an area where the road curves. Sullivan was ejected from the motorcycle and landed 35 feet below the interstate. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
