An Overland Park police officer is being credited with saving the life of an unconscious man he pulled from a swimming pool Friday morning.
The off-duty officer, Travis Brady, was working out at a fitness center in the 12000 block of Metcalf Avenue when he saw the man floating facedown in the pool, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page.
He dived in and pulled the man from the pool while telling others to call 911.
Brady performed CPR until ambulance and fire crews arrived and continued lifesaving efforts. The man had a pulse when he was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to the Overland Park Fire Department.
