Waiting room
You’re in the doctor’s waiting room before you’re summoned in;
You share the space with others who are also here again.
The trick is the logistics: where to sit with ample space
That acts just like a buffer zone for each and every place.
So put three seats between you and the nearest person, true —
Which works until more patients come and sit right next to you.
To move, you’ll need some pretext — check the magazines that perch
Upon the table ’cross the room, which lets you up and lurch.
And so this game of chairs drags on, until your fate is known:
Your name is called, which means you’ve earned … a little room alone.
