Motorcyclist killed in Independence crash

A 26-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was killed early Tuesday in a crash on westbound Interstate 70 near Lee’s Summit Road in Independence.

Police said a driver lost control of a Cadillac Escalade about 1:30 a.m., struck a guardrail, overturned and came to rest in the highway. Cristopher M. Muse, who was driving a motorcycle, collided with the wreckage. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. The driver of the Cadillac has non-life-threatening injuries.
