Elderly Spring Hill woman missing

An 82-year-old Spring Hill woman reported missing Saturday afternoon was found hours later by a Johnson County law enforcement patrol.

Norma Smith, of 22550 South Franklin, was found shortly before 8:30 p.m. walking in a rural area near 223 Street and Woodland on the Miami County side of Spring Hill, said Lt. Mark Rokusek of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. Rokusek said Smith was being treated on the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Smith had been out walking near her home when she went missing about 4:30 p.m.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Department, Kansas Highway Patrol with air support, the Shawnee Police canine unit and area fire departments participated in the search.
