Cattle truck overturns on I-29 near Platte City

The driver of a cattle truck escaped injuries when a tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 29 near Platte City early Friday

The southbound truck crashed after it went into the median about 1:45 a.m. Friday.

Traffic was limited to one lane in both directions for a while while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.

The left lane of northbound I-29 remained closed at 7 a.m.

The truck was carrying about 40 head of cattle, according to media reports. Some of the cattle escaped while some of the animals were injured.
