Gardner Edgerton School District will pay fired administrators for rest of 2013-2014 school year

The superintendent and two top assistants fired by a divided school board amid controversy in February will now have their contracts and all benefits paid through the end of June.

Fired Superintendent Bill Gilhaus and two top assistants who also lost their jobs in February will be paid through the end of the fiscal year, June 30, according to a resolution passed by the school board.

The board fired Gilhaus, Lana Gerber and Christina Ziegler in a controversial 4-3 vote at a meeting Feb. 27.

The resolution, which passed unanimously May 12, calls for the district to pay all contractual obligations and benefits, including any payments that had not been made since Feb. 27.
