Kansas City checkpoint results in 12 DUI arrests

Kansas City police arrested 12 drivers for driving under the influence at a sobriety checkpoint Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Exactly 627 vehicles were stopped at the checkpoint set up between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. at 13915 E. US 350 Highway.

One firearm was recovered during the checkpoint. Besides the 12 arrests for DUI, police also arrested or issued citations to four individuals for driving with suspended or revoked licenses, five for hazardous moving violations, one for possession of cocaine, three for possession of marijuana, one to a minor in possession of alcohol and three for outstanding warrants.
