Overland Park police are searching for a dog that bit a female as it was being walked in the 9300 block of West 93rd Street around noon on Sunday.

Police said the dog, a large German shepherd, bit the victim on the leg. The dog was on a leash, and its handler did not exchange information with the victim, police said. The handler and the dog left the area, heading north on Craig Street from 93rd Street. The handler was a white woman in her early 20s with black hair, about five feet six inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. The dog was described as having black and white fur with a harness around its shoulders.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Overland Park Police Department at 913-895-6300.
