One more day: That’s what the Kansas City area will have to deal with when it comes to the chilly, rainy weather.

The area will have one more day of dreary weather conditions before a drastic change in the weather begins, according to The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Highs will be in the mid-50s with a slight chance for showers Wednesday. But a warm-up begins Friday, with highs reaching the upper 60s and then middle to upper 70s over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs are expected to be in the lower 80s early next week.

That’s good news after wind-chill values neared the freezing mark Wednesday morning.

The stretch of last few days have been one of the coldest time frames on record and the coldest stretch since 2005, according to the National Weather Service.

The warmer temperatures will be accompanied by light winds and dry conditions. The next chance for thunderstorms is next week.
