Man charged with April 14 murder in KCK

A 32-year-old Mexican national was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in an April 14 shooting at a bar in the 6500 block of Kansas Avenue in Kansas City, Kan.

Leopoldo Loya-Bustillos is also charged with aggravated battery in the death of 30-year-old Oscar Sanchez. Sanchez was taken in a private vehicle to a hospital, where he died. Police reports originally said it was a highway shooting near Interstates 635 and 70.

Loya-Bustillos is in the Wyandotte County Jail with bond set at $1 million.
