Four burglary suspects are in custody in Harrisonville after leading patrol cars on a chase Thursday that went into two states, four counties and multiple cities.
The pursuit began after a homeowner called authorities about 10:30 a.m. and said some men were burglarizing his home near Freeman, Mo. Cass County deputies found the white van and chased it on back roads into Miami County in Kansas. Stop sticks failed to stop the vehicle.
The chase went back into Missouri and up Interstate 49 into south Kansas City where the van broke down shortly after 11 a.m. and the occupants were taken into custody. The van’s driver was hospitalized for injuries suffered when he tried to jump over a concrete highway divider.
