Kansas City firefighters battle house fire that spread to second home

Firefighters battled a fire that burned two houses Wednesday morning in Kansas City. There were no initial reports of injuries.

Firefighters were battling a fire that started in one house and spread to a second one Wednesday morning.

There were no initial reports of injuries in the blaze that damaged two houses in the 2900 block of Brooklyn Avenue.

The fire was reported shortly after 8 a.m. and the first firefighters reported heavy smoke and flames. Additional fire trucks were sent to the scene after the first crews said the fire had already spread to a second home.
