Get out and enjoy the nice weather early this weekend because the second half will be stormy.

After a warm Friday and Saturday, rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to begin to develop Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rain Saturday night through Sunday, ending early Monday.

Up to 2 inches of rain is expected to fall across the region.

A few strong to severe storms are possible Sunday afternoon along and south of the Missouri River.

The main threat of the severe storms are large hail, but some damaging winds and an isolated tornado is possible.
