Police nab 20 for DUI at sobriety checkpoint in Westport

Kansas City police arrested 20 drivers for driving under the influence at a Main Street sobriety checkpoint late Friday night and early Saturday morning.
Precisely 546 vehicles were stopped at the checkpoint set up between 11 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday at 4040 Main Street just south of Westport Road.
Besides the 20 arrests for DUI, police also arrested or issued citations to two individuals for driving with suspended or revoked licenses, to six for hazardous moving violations, one to a minor in possession of alcohol, one for possession of marijuana, one for hindering an officer, and one on an outstanding warrant.
