EyeVerify, a Kansas City, Kan.-based startup that has won several entrepreneurial honors, has added another award, the Luis Villalobos Award for innovation from the Angel Capital Association.

The association of investors in early-stage, high-growth ventures from around the world recognized EyeVerify’s eyeprint verification technology. Reza Derakhshani is the principal inventor and Toby Rush is chief executive officer.

EyeVerify has raised nearly $4 million and is working on another round of funding. Mid America Angels, Nebraska Angels, Think Big Ventures and other investors have participated to date.
