A school bus that suddenly stopped to avoid hitting a dog in the road was rear-ended by another school bus Tuesday afternoon in Kansas City.
Three students sustained minor injuries in the 2:45 p.m. crash on Van Brunt Boulevard at 16th Street. Both buses were nearly full of students from East High School, police said. A male student sustained a bloody nose, a girl complained of neck pain and a boy said his forearm hurt.
The buses were following each other north on Van Brunt when the first bus stopped. Damage to the buses was limited to the bumpers, said police Sgt. Bill Mahoney.
