Nursing student Emil De Leon's winning guess on “Wheel of Fortune” was so unbelievable that host Pat Sajak actually patted him down to make sure he wasn’t cheating. W.O.W.
Emil made it to the bonus round on the episode that aired Wednesday night. Unfortunately for him, after he asked for the letters H, M, D and O, he only had two out of 12 letters to work with.
Three words. It’s a thing. The first two letters are N and E.
“This looks tough to me,” Sajak said, stating the obvious. “Keep talking. Maybe the right thing will pop out.”
“New baby buggy,” Emil blurted out.
Sajak looked stunned.
“Tonight's "Wheel of Fortune" features most amazing solve in my 30+ years on the show. No kidding,” Sajak tweeted.
Emil won $45,000 for guessing correctly.
People who’ve seen the clip on YouTube suspect that he cheated.
“Witch! Witch!” someone commented.
Emil tells TMZ that the game was not rigged. When the show was filmed in January he was studying pediatrics in nursing school, so he had babies on his mind and just got lucky. He said that Sajak and Vanna White told him later that he was one of the game's best players ever.
