An 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted Friday morning as she walked to a bus stop in Overland Park, according to police.

Police said the incident occurred just before 7 a.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the 12400 block of Quivira Road.

A surgical mask partially covered the suspect’s face during the attack. He was described as a white male in his 20s wearing all black clothing, a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of thick camouflage-colored gloves.

Officers increased patrols in the area. They asked that anyone with information about the incident call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 or Overland Park police at 913-344-8750.
