A Festus, Mo., man has pleaded not guilty to prostituting his 41-year-old wife at a hotel in North Dakota’s capital city.

Bismarck police arrested 67-year-old Marvin Lord in early February. The Bismarck Tribune reports that hotel staff alerted authorities.

Lord’s wife is from China and doesn’t speak English. She pleaded guilty to prostitution charges and spent two weeks in jail.

Lord appeared in court Tuesday and is currently being held in the county jail.

Festus is south and slightly west of St. Louis.
