Customers shopping for swimsuits on Target's website were in for a surprise when they saw an altered image of a young girl in a bikini.

In an attempt to slim down the model's thighs, the Photoshop "artist" instead removed part of her crotch. But the Photoshop fail didn't stop there.

Another view showed a leftover sliver of skin from the girl's upper body, where Target tried to thin out her arms and waist, and failed again.

And just as soon as they removed the model’s crotch, they removed the image.

"This was an unfortunate error on our part, and we apologize," a Target official told Buzzfeed. "We have removed the image from our website."

Another image of a model in a different swimsuit revealed an equally bad Photoshop job, with a square chunk taken out of the bottom of the suit.

Perhaps Target learned its lesson and will keep its models’ bodies intact next time.
