Nothing suspicious was found in a search of an American Airlines plane from Chicago to Kansas City that was the object of a perceived threat Thursday night.

The plane, Flight 4222, was parked away from the terminals after it landed about 10 p.m. and the passengers were evacuated. Kansas City was its intended destination.

An FBI spokeswoman in Kansas City said Friday that nothing suspicious was found in a sweep of the plane and the luggage. The passengers were not searched.

The spokeswoman said a man who had missed his flight made a comment that was perceived to contain a possible threat against the aircraft. The procedures were taken as a precaution.
