Independence police ID woman killed in U.S. 40 crash

Authorities have identified a 21-year-old passenger killed in an automobile wreck early Saturday as Felicia A. Kuntze of Independence.

The crash occurred about 2 a.m. on U.S. 40 and Fairview Road in Independence. The Chevrolet Trailblazer carrying Kuntze was traveling west on U.S. 40 when it left the roadway near Fairview Road and partially overturned, according to police.

Kuntze, who was ejected, died at a hospital.

The driver was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
