With the streak of sub-freezing days over, temperatures are going to heat up in Kansas City.

But the warming trend is put on a slight pause Friday as highs are expected to only reach the lower to mid-30s in Kansas City, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.

Some parts of northern and central Missouri could see some light snow with some light sleet or freezing rain mixed in.

But after that, the warmup returns as highs could reach the lower to mid-40s on Saturday and Sunday. And near 50 degrees on Monday.

Next week, highs will be well above normal, with highs could climb into the mid-50s on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

On Wednesday, the high could reach 60 degrees.
