Body found in garage of Kansas City, Kan., house

Kansas City, Kan., police are conducting a death investigation after a body was found Sunday in a garage behind a single-family house in the Westheight neighborhood.

Sgt. Emmett Lockridge said officers found the body in the 1800 block of New Jersey Avenue after police received an anonymous call about 2 p.m.

Police did not reveal any information about how they thought the person died or whether foul play was involved. They said the victim’s identity would not be released pending positive identification and family notification.

The Major Case Unit is encouraging anyone with information regarding the incident to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
