Sarah Gonzales McLinn is scheduled to appear Monday in court in Douglas County, Kan., charged with first-degree murder in connection with the January killing of businessman Harold Sasko.
McLinn was returned to Lawrence from Florida early Saturday, according to the district attorney’s office. She remains in the Douglas County jail.
Lawrence police began looking for McLinn on Jan. 17, after family members said they hadn’t been able to reach her for three days.
They went to Sasko’s home, where McLinn had been living, and found Sasko dead inside.
She was arrested several days later in Florida, after park rangers found her sleeping in the back seat of Sasko’s 2008 Nissan Altima sedan in the visitor center parking lot at Everglades National Park.
A law enforcement source told the Miami Herald last week that rangers found a small amount of hashish, two firearms, two knives and an ax in Sasko’s vehicle when McLinn was arrested.
