A 27-year-old man was killed Monday in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Clay County, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Authorities identified him as Aaron L. Kern of Excelsior Springs. The accident was reported about 3 p.m. in the 21000 block of Northeast 112th Street, near Liberty. Kern was driving a 2001 Ford F150 when it went off the side of the road and struck a mailbox and moved to the other side of the road. The vehicle then overturned, ejecting Kern, who was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
Kern was pronounced dead at the scene.
