A bloody shooting on Kansas City’s East Side early Tuesday afternoon left two dead and one wounded.
The three victims were sitting in a red Chevrolet pickup at a stoplight on Blue Parkway near Hardesty Avenue about 1:30 p.m., said Capt. Tye Grant of the Kansas City Police Department.
“It appears someone pulled up and shot multiple rounds into the truck,” Grant said.
Investigators found the truck “full of bullet holes,” Grant said.
A witness described the suspect vehicle to investigators as a silver Hyundai, possibly a newer model compact, and said that its back window had been blown out by shooters in the vehicle firing back toward the truck, Grant said.
That car last was seen fleeing south on Hardesty, Grant said.
The three victims, all men in their early 30s, were taken to a hospital, where two were pronounced dead. The third man suffered much less serious injuries, Grant said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
