REO Speedwagon is making its annual trip to Starlight Theater this summer, but instead of Styx, its tour mate will be Chicago.

The show is Aug. 7. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Chicago is touring as a nine-piece that includes four original members: Robert Lamm on keyboard and vocals; Lee Loughnane on trumpet, James Pankow on trombone and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds.

The five members of REO include longtime lead singer Kevin Cronin and founding keyboardist Neal Doughty plus Dave Amato, the band’s bassist since 1977.

This is the fourth 2014 concert announcement by Starlight. The others: Arcade Fire on April 26, Journey with Steve Miller on July 14, and comedian Chelsea Handler on May 2.
