Authorities on Monday identified a man who died from injuries suffered in a Saturday morning house fire in Overland Park as Shawn Kenneth Marley.
Firefighters found Marley, 54, inside the burning split-level home in 10300 block of Reeds Road just after 9 a.m. Saturday. He died later at a hospital.
Overland Park Fire Department officials said they believe the fire was started by smoking materials that had been carelessly discarded. They also said that the home did not appear to have any working smoke alarms.
