A woman who attempted to commit suicide by setting herself on fire in a Lowe’s parking lot late Sunday afternoon remains in critical condition Monday, police said.

The 41-year-old woman doused herself with lighter fluid and then used a cigarette lighter to ignite it, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said.

A passerby spotted her in the parking lot and pushed her into a snowbank, extinguishing the flames.

She was taken to the burn unit at a Wichita hospital.
