Kansas City police on Tuesday afternoon were investigating the discovery of possible explosive devices in a vacant Northland home.
Police were called to the 5100 block of Northeast Baxter Avenue about 1:35 p.m. after the landlord discovered the devices that a police dispatcher said were “left behind.”
Police closed two nearby intersections, at Baxter and North Winchester Avenue, and Winchester and Northeast Cotter Avenue, while bomb and arson investigators worked at the house. About three hours later, police left the scene. Bomb and arson investigators were examining the devices at another location, a dispatcher said.
