An Overland Park businessman pleaded guilty in Kansas City federal court Wednesday to purchasing more than $1.8 million in contraband cigarettes from undercover agents.

Randall H. McColley, 67, admitted that he and an unidentified conspirator purchased 108,120 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes from undercover agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives between May 2011 and February 2012.

The cigarette packages did not bear the tax stamps required by federal and state laws, prosecutors said.
