A man accused of using a meat cleaver to rob a drug store was charged Sunday with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

Ronaldo D. Conway, 29, was arrested Saturday after witnesses who followed him from the store saw him board an ATA bus.

Police believe Conway entered the CVS Pharmacy at 921 Main St. about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, jumped the counter and pressed a meat cleaver against a clerk’s throat, forcing her to give him access to the cash register.

Police stopped the bus and arrested Conway, who, according to police, still had the meat cleaver and cash in his possession.
