A woman was accosted by a knife-wielding man and robbed in Olathe early Friday morning, police said.

The woman was getting into her car in the 11800 block of South Shannan St. when the suspect forced her into the vehicle and got into the driver’s seat. He drove to the rear of a business nearby and showed her a knife. He took the woman’s money, then drove back to near where she had initially been accosted. The suspect then fled on foot and the victim was not injured.

He was described as a black male who was five feet eight inches to six feet tall. He was wearing a dark jacket, a dark beanie-style hat and black sports-type gloves, police said.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Olathe police at 913-971-6950 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
