The Chiefs will practice without three crucial starters for the second straight day Thursday as the team announced left tackle Branden Albert (knee), outside linebacker Justin Houston (elbow) and tight end Anthony Fasano (concussion) would sit out.
Albert was carted off the field in the second half of Sunday’s loss to Denver because of a hyperextended knee. Houston missed the Denver game because of a subluxation of his right elbow. Fasano is undergoing protocol for a concussion.
It appears Fasano will be out for Sunday’s game at Washington. Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson said Dominique Jones will likely be the top backup behind Sean McGrath at tight end. Jones would have to be promoted from the practice squad.
