More than two dozen health centers, including Swope Health and Samuel U. Rodgers sites in the Kansas City area, are holding enrollment events this week to help people buy insurance on the new Health Insurance Marketplace.

Individuals without job-based or government-provided health insurance must purchase coverage for 2014, according to the Affordable Care Act. To be effective by Jan. 1, policies should be purchased by Dec. 23.

Participating clinics are listed at

www.mo-pca.org/tools/find/ or by calling 573-636-4222. Interested persons should call their preferred site for an appointment and ask for a health insurance counselor.
