A man walking in midtown Kansas City Tuesday night was forced at gunpoint into a car and made to withdraw money from an ATM.
Kansas City police said the victim was released unharmed a short time later.
The man told police he was walking near 39th and Wyandotte streets about 8 p.m. Tuesday when the suspects pulled up in a black four-door vehicle. They got out of the car, pointed a gun at the man and ordered him into the car.
They drove him to an ATM where they forced him to withdraw $500, police said.
The victim was dropped off at 39th Street and College Avenue. The suspects drove off to the north with the victim’s money, phone and wallet. The victim told police that the suspects talked with each other as if the car was stolen.
Police did not say how many suspects were involved and did not release descriptions of them.
