The former business manager at Brookside Family Medicine pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to embezzling as much as $182,000 from the business.
Eileen Kisner, also known as Anne, 56, was manager at the clinic from 2002-2010. Prosecutors say she used the clinic’s credit cards for her personal benefit. She pleaded guilty to mail fraud. The amount she stole was between $130,000 and $182,032.
In 2008, Kisner wrote a letter printed in The Kansas City Star complaining that insurance companies were raising health premiums but not compensating neighborhood doctors whose cost of business was increasing.
Kisner could be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
