Kansas City police are investigating the shooting death of a man in his 30s found inside his home Thursday afternoon in the south-central part of the city.
Witnesses heard two gunshots about 2:20 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of East 77th Street. When the witnesses looked over at the house, they saw the door open and a person leaving.
Officers found a heavy blood trail from the house to the driveway leading them to believe the person who fled may be injured and may have driven a car away. No car or suspect description was available.
Nearly two hours after the 911 call, police were still waiting for a search warrant to go back into the house to collect evidence.
