Just one more reason we love this woman. Jennifer Lawrence was walking the red carpet Monday night at the London premiere of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” when she stopped to give aid and comfort to a crying child.
The Oscar winner was in the middle of an interview when she noticed the little girl in a wheelchair sobbing behind the security barrier. Jennifer stopped the interview, had the barrier moved aside and left the red carpet to talk to the girl.
London’s Daily Mail reports that Lawrence said to the girl, “Thank you so much for coming,” and then asked, “Are you excited to be seeing the movie?” The girl nodded and smiled.
Hundreds of “Hunger Games” fans had camped overnight in Leicester Square to get a glimpse of Lawrence and the rest of the cast, the Daily Mail reports. The night was wet and windy, and it’s unclear whether the bad weather, the loud crowds or not being able to see Lawrence was what made the girl cry.
But now everyone knows what put the smile back on her face.
