Don’t let Monday morning’s warm autumn temperatures lull you into thinking cold weather is weeks away — think more like just a few hours.

After we reach a high in the mid-50s Monday morning, a strong cold front will sweep across the area with a drastic temperature change, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.

By this evening’s rush hour, temperatures are expected to fall to the upper 30s.

A drizzle or light rain might fall late Monday morning through the evening hours as the cold front moves through.

Overnight lows will continue to plummet into the upper teens to mid-20s. Wind will make it feel like we’re in the single digits or teens.
