Keith Urban became one of the biggest names in country music by delicately skirting authentic country sounds. The handsome Australian is a pop star camouflaged as a country artist. The token banjo inflections and obligatory references to rural settings can’t disguise his pop leanings.

Although he may have more in common with his fellow “American Idol” judge Mariah Carey than with Waylon Jennings, Urban’s crossover sounds are undeniably enjoyable.

Little Big Town, best known for the suggestive crossover hit “Pontoon,” and Dustin Lynch, a singer rarely seen without his cowboy hat, open Urban’s show Friday at Sprint Center. Tickets are $35 and $59.50 $37 and $61.50 in advance through
