The Crown Center Ice Terrace opens for the season on Friday.
Yep, you read that right. The public outdoor skating rink opens for its 41st season this weekend.
Where did the year go?
Maybe this will finally be the winter we overcome our fear of falling on our back pockets and having the embarrassing video/and or photo show up on social media.
It’s not like we even have to own our own skates. We can rent them there for $3.
In November, December and January, the rink is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
February through mid-March, hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Regular admission is $6; free for adults over 60 and children 4 and younger. Watch for two-for-one admissions on Tuesdays after 5 p.m., skate rental fees not included.
And remember that the skating rink is not a babysitter. (Or the mall.) Kids under 12 must be with a parent or guardian 21 or older.
