Double shooting at Kansas City tavern leaves one man dead

One man died and another man was injured in a double shooting inside a Kansas City tavern late Thursday and early Friday.
A disturbance erupted inside Las Plebes tavern in the 3000 block of East 12th Street and an employee called 911 at 12:02 a.m., police said. Meanwhile, a man in the disturbance went outside, retrieved a gun and barged back inside, where he shot two men.
One victim, a man in his 20s, was hit in the chest and died on his way to the hospital. The second victim, a man in his 40s, was shot in the leg.
By the time officers arrived, the gunman was gone.
