A 32-year-old Kansas City man and his 14-year-old daughter were killed in a traffic accident Thursday afternoon at 106th Terrace and Holmes Road.
The man’s 5-year-old daughter and an unrelated 13-year-old girl in the back seat were listed in stable condition after the 5:20 p.m. accident.
Both vehicles were northbound on Holmes. Witnesses told police a Chevrolet Impala was speeding when the driver lost control and struck the curb at 107th Terrace. He then swerved and struck the rear of another car before hitting a tree in a residential yard. The man and the girl were both dead at the scene. Their names were not released Thursday.
Four people were in the other car. The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
