Kansas City police identified a woman killed in a shooting discovered early Wednesday as Natasha M. Lewis, 34, of Kansas City.
Her body was found inside a friend’s house in the 3800 block of East 59th Street about 12:10 a.m., after the friend returned home. The friend saw her front door was open and called 911 on a possible burglary. Officers found the body. Lewis did not live with the friend but apparently was visiting.
Kentucky authorities charged Lewis earlier this year with driving under the influence with her 4-year-old child unrestrained in her back seat. Media reports in Kentucky said she was clocked by a trooper at 110 mph. Lewis recently was released from jail, police said.
She was questioned as a witness after a recent shooting in Grandview that wounded a man, police said.
Homicide investigators did not release any motive or suspect information Wednesday.
