Tony Moeaki’s time with the Chiefs has officially come to an end.
Jack Bechta, the agent for the 26-year-old tight end, confirmed a report via Twitter that the Chiefs have reached an injury settlement with Moeaki and will waive him from injured reserve, allowing him to become a free agent.
Moeaki, a third-round pick in 2010, caught 47 passes for 556 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie, but missed all of 2011 because of a knee injury. He returned in 2012 and caught 33 passes for 453 yards and a touchdown, but was placed on injured reserve when he hurt his shoulder in August.
Moeaki is now free to sign with any team.According to the National Football Post, he is expected to be healthy enough to play by week 11.
