A 27-year-old man has been charged in the drive-by shooting that injured an 8-year-old Overland Park boy last month.

Phillip Ricardo Bennett was arrested Thursday. He is being held in the Johnson County Jail and his bond is set at $100,000.

Bennett, of Kansas City, Kan., is charged with aggravated battery in connection with the Sept. 30 shooting in the 10000 block of Kessler Street. The boy was inside a house with his mother and two other children when someone fired shots into the house from a vehicle. The woman and the other children were not injured.

Overland Park police said Friday that the boy is expected to make a full recovery.
